Three Troy Police Cars Damaged in Pursuit
Information from the City of Troy
TROY - On April 13, 2025, at approximately 1:37 a.m., officers attempted to stop a suspected drunk driver on N. Market Street near the Sherwood Shopping Center. The driver failed to comply with the officers' signal to pull over, prompting a pursuit. The chase continued until the vehicle reached W. Main Street near S. Lane, where officers used the PIT maneuver in an attempt to stop it.
The driver, however, rammed police vehicles and continued south on S. Lane. A second PIT attempt was made, but the suspect continued through a shopping center parking lot before heading north on S. Dorset Road. A third PIT maneuver was executed there, causing the suspect to crash into a utility pole. Surrounded by officers, the suspect rammed police vehicles several more times until officers broke out a window and deployed a Taser. The suspect was then taken into custody. Three Troy Police cars were damaged by the suspect, with one needing to be towed.
Officers later linked the vehicle to two separate hit-and-run crashes involving parked cars on Shaftsbury Rd. prior to the attempted traffic stop.
The driver, 32-year-old Colin Langdon of Cincinnati, was charged with failure to comply with a lawful order or signal of a police officer, assault on a police officer, and multiple traffic violations and incarcerated in the Miami County Jail. Additional charges are pending.
