City of Piqua Announces the Appointment of New Law Director

PIQUA - The City of Piqua proudly announces the appointment of Jessica L. Stiltner, J.D., as its law director/prosecutor. Her first day with the City of Piqua will be January 6, 2025.

 

   “I am excited to join the City of Piqua team to work collaboratively in service of the community,” Stiltner said. “With my municipal and prosecution experience, I look forward to utilizing my skills in Piqua.”

 

   Stiltner brings more than a decade of practice experience. She currently serves as staff attorney for the Miami County Child Support Enforcement Agency. She previously served as staff attorney for the Butler County (Ohio) Child Support Enforcement Agency, staff attorney for Legal Aid of Western Ohio and assistant law director for the City of Marietta, Ohio.

 

   Stiltner holds a Juris Doctor degree from Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law and a Bachelor of Science from Wright State University Raj Soin College of Business. She is a graduate of Troy High School. She was admitted to the Ohio State Bar Association in 2011 and the Southern District of Ohio in 2022.

 

   “We are thrilled to welcome Jessica Stiltner as the new law director for the City of Piqua,” said Human Resources Director Catherine Bogan. “Jessica brings with her a wealth of legal expertise and a commitment to serving our community with integrity and dedication.”

 

   As law director, Stiltner will plan, organize and direct the activities of the Law Department, including leading civil litigation; drafting and reviewing legal documents; providing legal representation at City Commission and other City meetings; criminal prosecutions; and providing municipal-related legal advice to elected officials and City staff.

 

   “Jessica’s impressive track record and deep understanding of municipal law will undoubtedly be invaluable assets as we continue to grow and thrive,” said City Manager Paul Oberdorfer. “We eagerly anticipate her innovative contributions and are confident that her leadership will guide us toward a bright future.”
