Larry Dean Black 

Larry Dean Black, age 81, of Piqua, Ohio, passed away on December 18, 2024, at Ohio Hospice of Miami County. He was born September 24, 1943, in Piqua, Ohio to the late Prince and Treva Black.

   He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Donald Black and daughter-in-law Robin Black.

 

   Larry is survived by his wife Sherry (Grissom) Black; his children Chuck (Shelley) Black of Piqua, Steve Black of Piqua, Holly (Tom) Kearns of Troy, Keith Black and Eric (Faith) Black of Piqua. Eight grandchildren; Trevor Black, Missy (Blake) Watson, Wendy (Keith) Owen, Jacob (Jessica) Creager, Marissa Creager, Lindsey Chavers, Kyle Black and Angelica (Timothy) Black. Sixteen great grandchildren; Rhett Watson, Harper Watson, Allie Black, Abby Lynn Black, SJ Black, Gracie Black, Draven Owen, Ava Owen, Abby Creager, Braxtyn Creager, Kingsley Creager, Natalie Chavers, Bella Black, Leland Black and Maason Black.

 

   Larry worked for Piqua Battery for 51 years. He enjoyed cooking and weekend travels. He is well-known for his shish ke-babs.

 

   Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Hospice of Miami County or St. James Episcopal Church, 200 W. High St., Piqua, Ohio 45356.

 

   A private celebration of Larry’s life will be held at the convenience of the family.
