This year’s recipient is Ruth Safreed, pictured below left.

Nominator’s Statement: In 2001, Ruth Safreed opened her business, Midwest Memories in Tipp City.

Understanding the value of bringing community together, Ruth - along with others - founded the Antiques and Artisans Annual Festival, known today as Vintage in the Village. As part of the Guiding Committee, Ruth along with others laid the groundwork for the Tipp City Area Art Council and held offices of president and treasurer, throughout her years on the board. Bringing another layer of art to the community, she coordinated Art for the Heart, which eventually evolved into An Art Affair. This is where the Tipp City Area Arts Council had its first Fine Art Exhibition. She is an Emeritus Trustee for TCAAC and remains active with her help as a corresponding secretary and through her staunch support of the arts in our community.
