Beginner Horse Camp Begin Offered in Tipp City

Tipp City/Monroe Township - Tipp Monroe Community Services offers a beginner horse camp through Pshenandoah Farms, an equestrian training facility just outside of Tipp City at 2636 Tipp Elizabeth Rd. This 3-week camp is perfect for kids ages 6 and up eager to learn the basics of horseback riding and caring for horses. It is a fun-filled, hands-on experience for first-timers or riders wanting to improve their skills. This camp offers a supportive and educational environment for all levels. Camp begins on Jan. 25 and runs for 3 consecutive Saturdays from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. The cost is $160 for Tipp City and Monroe Township residents and $162 for nonresidents. This camp provides a unique opportunity for kids to bond with horses, develop new skills, and make lasting memories in a safe and welcoming atmosphere.

The course instructor, Rachel Vaughn, is a three-time National and four-time Reserve National Champion in Western Pleasure and Western Side Saddle. Her approach balances fun and education for riders of all ages and abilities.
Campers will learn essential horse care skills on the first two days, including tacking up, brushing, feeding, and proper riding techniques. Experienced instructors will guide each child through these activities, ensuring a fun and safe learning environment. The final day will feature a thrilling riding demonstration by a National Champion Horse and Rider Pair, allowing campers to see advanced riding techniques in action. Campers will celebrate their hard work after the demo with a pizza party.
